5 Year Structural Warranty
Continental United States and Australia
Last Updated: August 2024
Every Flare Outdoor Fireplace comes with a 5-Year Structural Warranty. This warranty covers significant structural cracking of masonry components. Hairline cracks due to temperature changes are normal and are not covered under this warranty. If Flare Outdoor Fireplaces (Flare) determines the presence of structural cracks, Flare will, at its own cost, undertake remedial work to repair and re-skim the fireplace.
- Warranty Exclusions
- Hairline Cracking and Re-Cracking: Hairline cracking is normal and not covered under this warranty. Repaired structural cracks may form hairline cracks, which are also excluded from coverage
- Component Replacement: Flare will not replace any fireplace components under any circumstances
- Third-Party Assessment: Flare will independently determine if a crack is structural. No third-party assessments or directions will be accepted
- Building Works: Any building work required for remedial action is the responsibility of the customer. Flare is not responsible for costs associated with such work
- Improper Installation: This warranty is valid only if the fireplace is installed according to Flare’s Installation Instructions and Manufacturing Specifications (see below)
- Concrete Shocking: Damage caused by concrete shocking, which occurs when the fireplace is rapidly heated, is excluded. Flare recommends caution during winter use to prevent concrete shocking
- Staining: Lime and rust staining due to cracking is normal and expected
- Firebrick Replacement: Firebricks are replaced at the customer’s expense
- Chipping: Flare ensures its fireplaces leave the factory chip-free. Any chipping during transit is the transport company’s responsibility. Chipping during installation is the installer’s responsibility, and post-installation chipping is the owner’s responsibility
- Finish: All Flare Outdoor Fireplaces are supplied as raw concrete fire units, called “Natural Precast.” Flare does not accept liability for natural concrete imperfections, including air bubble holes, imperfect edges, color variations, lime streaking, or non-flat surfaces
- Plaster or Veneer: Flare accepts no liability for any plaster or veneer applied after installation
- Tipping, Leaning, or Movement: Flare does not warrant its fireplaces against tipping, leaning, or movement, as it does not lay foundations. It is the client’s responsibility to ensure proper foundation installation, as specified in Flare’s Manufacturing Specifications:
