Apple Crumble Pizza Recipe
Ingredients
Pizza Base:
- 4 cups of flour
- 2 tbsp yeast
- 1 tsp caster sugar
- 2 cups warm water
- 2 tbsp olive oil
Stewed Apple Base:
- 4 green apples, peeled and chopped
- ½ cup brown sugar
- ½ cup water
- 1 tsp cinnamon
Topping:
- 1 cup oats
- ¼ cup crushed pretzels
- ¼ cup brown sugar
- 1 tsp cinnamon
Extras:
- Caramel sauce
- Ice cream
Method
Pizza Base:
- Mix 2 cups of warm water with yeast and caster sugar. Rest for 5 minutes.
- Add flour to the mixture and mix well. Knead with additional flour until the dough is consistent and rubbery.
- Place the dough in a bowl, drizzle with olive oil, wrap with plastic wrap, and let it rise in a dry, room-temperature cupboard for 30 minutes.
- Remove the dough, knead with ½ cup of flour, and separate into bases ready to roll out.
- Fit the dough into an ironclad pan lined with baking paper.
- Preheat the pizza hood to 300°C and cook the base for 5-6 minutes.
Stewed Apple Base:
- Combine apples, brown sugar, water, and cinnamon in an ironclad pan.
- Cook over the grill for 8-10 minutes, stirring occasionally until thickened and caramelized.
Assembling the Pizza:
- Spread the stewed apple mixture over the pre-cooked pizza base.
- Mix oats, crushed pretzels, brown sugar, and cinnamon. Sprinkle over the apple base.
- Cook the assembled pizza for an additional 4-5 minutes at 300°C.
Serving:
- Drizzle with caramel sauce and top with ice cream before serving.
